Ok, so maybe we didn't have bells, but we did celebrate the marriage of my oldest child, Sarah, to her Spencer, on Sunday afternoon.
It's been exciting to get to this point, but there have been a few bumps along the way. First my mom is no longer allowed to come to the coast or she will end up in the hospital again. Then my dad couldn't come because of some major back pain. But the hardest one of all was her sister, Beth, was not going to make it because her baby is due any day now. Beth was to be the matron of honor. We came to grips with it, but Beth had other plans. She called me on Friday and told me she was coming, well actually she and Kevin were already on their way here. They stayed the first night with Kevin's mon then came up Saturday night. We got home from rehearsal and decorating about 10:30 and Beth and Kevin were here. It was a total surprize to everyone, except me. Sarah held on to Beth and cried. It was a very tender moment. Although she didn't stand up with her it was very special to have her there to be a part of the celebration.
The wedding was beautiful, Sarah was gorgeous, Spencer handsome, and everything seemed to go pretty smoothly.
Sarah's friend Kathy and her daughter Gabrielle, from N. Carolina, stayed with us and were major help. Gab was one of the flower girls along with Kaylee, Sarah's cousin. They were so cute in their pretty dresses and flower wreathes in their hair.
Mike looked pretty handsome in his black tux with olive green vest and tie. Bret too was well dressed in his tux-minus his hankie. He was the ring bearer. I wore a mint green dress with a short jacket to match. Sarah and I both had our hair done up. We were all so relaxed and calm. It was a very perfect day.
